Benrus SS “Ultra-Deep” Super Compressor Diver’s circa 1969

Arguably, one of the best looking of all the medium sized vintage “Super Compressor” models of the early skin diver era. The Benrus SS “Ultra Deep” diver’s model, a large 36.5mm diameter case with especially heavy, robust lugs, water proof style screw back case, and domed acrylic crystal. A great looking model with glossy black original dial with warmly patina’d large luminous indexes, matching oversized luminous spider hands and signed on the dial Benrus Ultra-Deep Self Winding 666 FT. Powered by self winding movement with sweep seconds and date. With original oversized cross hatched crowns, which give great proportion to the design. The top crown rotates the elapsed time inner bezel while the bottom crown operates the setting of the date and time. With heavy screw down case back signed Ultra Deep. A great looking vintage diver’s model just fully serviced and guaranteed. The case was polished prior to our acquiring the watch. A great looking model, and In our opinion, one of the coolest models ever produced by this otherwise lesser known American marketed Swiss origin brand.
