A fine condition example of this popular 1980’s modernist design model, in excellent condition, with sharp case details and good length and condition tight, not stretched bracelet. Featuring a 36mm diameter large angular design case with fluted bezel and original Rolex dial that has been refinished gloss black and had solid gold stars installed as the dial markers. The dial is signed Rolex OysterQuartz Day-Date, Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified. Powered by Rolex calibre 5035 quartz movement with English language day wheel and with quick set date. With integral 18K YG flat link oyster quartz bracelet with deployment clasp. Bracelet will comfortably fit a 7 1/4″ wrist. The Oyster Quartz movement was introduced by Rolex during the “quartz revolution” of the late 1970’s to compete with the burgeoning Japanese market in quartz movements. Rolex produced their own high quality movement, and outfitted the watch in a much more futuristic and modern motif design, larger and more geometric formed Oyster case.
